Vehicle extrication is the process of removing a vehicle from around a person who has been involved in a motor vehicle collision, when conventional means of exit are impossible or inadvisable. A delicate approach is needed to minimize injury to the victim during the extrication. This operation is usually accomplished by using chocks and bracing for stabilization and powered rescue tools and equipment, including the Jaws of Life.
The Wagener Fire Department takes pride in serving all within District 16 and those in the surrounding areas. To prevent property damage or loss we offer fire awareness training for family and also perform fire inspection.
The Wagener Fire Department knows that not always is there an ambulance close to those located in our rural community. We have trained personnel that respond to any and all medical calls, providing first-aid until medical attention can be transferred to those trained to transport patients in crisis to the nearest medical facility.
Fire protection is both the study and practice of mitigating the unwanted effects of potentially destructive fires. It involves the study of the behavior, compartmentalization, suppression and investigation of fire and its related emergencies, as well as the research and development, production, testing and application of mitigating systems.
